The Ultimate 9/11 'Truth' Showdown: David Ray Griffin vs. Matt TaibbiBy Matt Taibbi and David Ray Griffin October 6, 2008 Alternet.org A poll of 17 countries that came out September of this year revealed that majorities in only nine of them "believe that al Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States." A Zogby poll from 2006 found that in America, 42% of respondents believed the US government and 9/11 Commission "covered up" the events of 9/11. It's safe to say that at least tens of millions of Americans don't believe anything close to the official account offered by the 9/11 Commission, and that much of the outside world remains skeptical. Over the years, AlterNet has run dozens of stories, mostly critical, of the 9/11 Movement. Matt Taibbi has taken on the 9/11 Truth Movement head on in a series of articles, and most recently in his new book, The Great Derangement.

Anti-war veterans unfurl 'Arrest Bush/Cheney' banner at National ArchivesSeptember 24, 2008 At 7:30 a.m. this morning, they climbed a nine-foot fence to occupy a 35-foot-high ledge at the National Archives.
And five members of the Veterans for Peace organization have been there ever since. They say they're veterans of Vietnam and Iraq, anti-war activists, and soldiers for a cause who plan to fast for 24 hours in protest of the Bush administration. Seeking the criminal prosecution of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the organization distributed "Citizens' Arrest Warrants" to tourists waiting in line to enter the archives, which houses the key documents of U.S. history: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Michael Badnarik on Visibility911
September 22, 2008Michael Wolsey This week Visibility 9-11 welcomes Constitutional expert Michael Badnarik. Mr. Badnarik ran for President of the United States in 2004 and was actually arrested when he dared to cross police lines in protest of being excluded from the Presidential debates of 2004. He also teaches an 8 hour class as an introduction to the Constitution and has written a book about the Constitution titled Good to be King; Foundations of Freedom. For more information, visit Michael's website at Constitution Preservation. This interview includes a frank discussion about the usurpation's of the Constitution since 9-11 through the USA PATRIOT Act and the Military Commissions Act, George Orwell, and some of Mr. Badnarik's doubts about the official story of 9-11 and his support for a new investigation.

Did American Flight 77 Strike the Pentagon? The Debris Deficitby Dr. David Ray Griffin According to the official account of 9/11, Wedge 1 of the Pentagon was struck by Flight 77, which was a Boeing 757. If so, there surely would have been debris from the plane to support this claim. But, it appears, there was not. People who inspected Wedge 1 shortly after the attack almost universally reported an absence of the kind of debris that would have been left by the crash of a large airliner. I will give several examples.

It's the creepy plotters who rule us we should really be scared ofPeter Hitchens There is no such organisation as ‘Al Qaeda’. The spooks know this, Cabinet Ministers know this and so do the ‘security correspondents’ who so readily trot out the spooks’ point of view on our broadcasting networks. Of course, there are terrorists, and there are also fantasists, fanatics, low-lifes and camp followers who plot and attempt horrible things. Some of them even call themselves ‘Al Qaeda’ these days because they have learned that this is a good way to scare us. But, while they are a menace, they are not as big or as organised a menace as the Government likes to make out.

Steven E. Jones lectures on 'alternative theories' surrounding the attacks By Ben Fulton The Salt Lake Tribune 09/11/2008 OREM - For most of the American public, the dust has settled over how the World Trade Center fell Sept. 11. But seven years later, former Brigham Young University physics professor Steven E. Jones remains perhaps the most famous proponent of so-called "alternative theories" surrounding the Sept. 11 attacks. Almost two years since BYU placed him on paid leave following controversy over his claims that the WTC towers did not fall due to the collision of passenger jets alone, he's still studying dust samples gathered near ground zero. The man can also pack a small lecture hall, as he did Wednesday afternoon during one of the weekly physics colloquiums sponsored by Utah Valley University's physics department.

No consensus on who was behind Sept 11-International Poll
Sep 10, 2008 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Seven years after the Sept. 11 attacks, there is no consensus outside the United States that Islamist militants from al Qaeda were responsible, according to an international poll published Wednesday. The survey of 16,063 people in 17 nations found majorities in only nine countries believe al Qaeda was behind the attacks on New York and Washington that killed about 3,000 people in 2001. As originally reported at WorldPublicOpinion.org: A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 17 nations finds that majorities in only nine of them believe that al Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
In no country does a majority agree on another possible perpetrator, but in most countries significant minorities cite the US government itself and, in a few countries, Israel. These responses were given spontaneously to an open-ended question that did not offer response options. ... "Given the extraordinary impact the 9/11 attacks have had on world affairs, it is remarkable that seven years later there is no international consensus about who was behind them," comments Steven Kull, director of WorldPublicOpinion.org.
