Senator Mike Gravel Speaks about NYC 9/11 Initiative on Democracy NowDemocray Now Watch the video here; written transcript follows:
AMY GOODMAN: Former Alaska senator and 2008 presidential candidate Mike Gravel is holding a news conference in New York City today to call for a new independent investigation into 9/11. Gravel will be speaking on behalf of the NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative Campaign, a grassroots group seeking to place an initiative on the ballot of the November 6th general election allowing registered New York City voters to create a new commission to investigate 9/11. The group is looking to appoint between nine and fifteen commissioners on the panel to conduct the investigation. Some of the people who have reportedly already agreed to serve as commissioners include Lori Van Auken, a 9/11 widow, one of the so-called “Jersey Girls”; Lincoln Chafee, the former Republican senator from Rhode Island; Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, a pastor in Detroit, Michigan; as well as former Democratic Senator Mike Gravel, who joins us here today.

Lawmaker takes 9/11 doubts global--JapanBy JOHN SPIRI
In a September 2003 article for The Guardian newspaper, Michael Meacher, who served as Tony Blair's environment minister from May 1997 to June 2003, shocked the establishment by calling the global war on terrorism "bogus." Even more controversially, he implied that the U.S. government either allowed 9/11 to happen, or played some role in the destruction wrought that day. Besides Meacher, few politicians have publicly questioned America's official 9/11 narrative — until Diet member Yukihisa Fujita. In January 2008 Fujita, a member of the Democratic Party of Japan, asked the Japanese Parliament and Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda to explain gaping holes in the official 9/11 story that various groups — including those who call themselves the "911 Truth Movement" — claim to have exposed. Fujita, along with a growing number of individuals — including European and American politicians — are leading a charge to conduct a thorough, independent investigation of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001.

Response to 'Financial Times' Article of June 7, 2008From Elizabeth Woodworth June 8, 2008 Dear Mr. Barber: I am a professional medical librarian who delivered "best evidence" literature to the public health officers of the British Columbia government for 25 years. Your article, "The Truth is Out There," is an "ad hominem" approach to a critically serious matter, and it unfortunately fails to deal with the evidence involved. You will no doubt agree that 9/11 has changed the world. It is a seminal event which has grossly undermined trust and erected enormous barriers between the West and the Middle East. And it has led to widespread mayhem and death in that region. Obviously, questions concerning our understanding of the event are of the utmost importance.

Activist hungry for 'truth' about 9/11--The Arizona Republicby Richard Ruelas Blair Gadsby, the 45-year-old former owner of an adult-care home and an adjunct professor of religious studies at a community college, never figured he would be the type of person to stage a hunger strike outside the Phoenix office of U.S. Sen. John McCain. But about a year ago, Gadsby convinced himself that the U.S. government, not terrorists, demolished the World Trade Center buildings in New York on Sept. 11, 2001. And that belief has turned him into a fasting activist. "I've never been politically active until the 9/11 subject came up," he said, sitting on a fabric folding chair last week along 16th Street, outside the complex that houses McCain's Phoenix office.

The Truth is Out There (published in the 'Financial Times')By Peter Barber When Cynthia McKinney speaks the words of Martin Luther King Jr, they resound through the church with some of King’s cadence. “A time comes,” declares the former US congresswoman from Georgia, “when silence is betrayal.” The congregation answers with whoops and calls of “That’s right!” King was talking about America’s war in Vietnam. More than 40 years later, before the packed pews of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, McKinney is speaking of the American government’s war on its own people. The shock and awe phase of this conflict, we had been told earlier, began on September 11 2001, when the Bush administration launched attacks on New York and Washington, or at least waved them through. According to a show of hands that February afternoon, several hundred people in the immaculate church believe this to be true. Some came in T-shirts bearing the words “9/11 was an inside job”. One wore a badge demanding that you “Examine your assumptions”. Quite a few bought the DVDs on sale in the foyer, most of which bore photographs of the Twin Towers spewing smoke. They had all come to hear the message of Architects, Engineers & Scientists for 9/11 Truth, one of the dozens of groups across the US which campaign to persuade us that everything we think we know about 9/11 is wrong.

9/11 Debate Continues on AirAmerica's Clout : 5/29 Lorie van Auken, John Judge & Kyle Hence; 5/22 Peter Dale Scottby Jon Gold This week’s debate on Air
America’s “Clout” with Richard Greene is destined to be
a special one. As it stands right now, the two confirmed “pro-Truth”
guests to appear are Kyle Hence, and John Judge, the founders of 9/11 CitizensWatch.
Citizenswatch was a watchdog group of the 9/11 Commission that worked alongside
the 9/11 Family
Steering Committee. Along with the families, they
called for the resignation of Executive Director Philip Zelikow, and at one
point, they started an advertising campaign “demanding that Bush, Cheney,
Clinton, Gore and Rice testify publicly, and under oath before the commission.”
Last week's guest was Dr. Peter Dale Scott, author of The Road to 9/11 and many other titles. Listen to this amazing discussion at the link provided here.

9/11 Truth, Breaking Through the Media Blackout in OZ!By John Bursill 5/23/2008 ABC Australia Well what a week we’ve had here in oz fighting the 9/11 info war! As you may all be aware Truth Action Australia organized a recent Conference in Sydney, Australia in March of this year. The aim of this conference was to gather intellectuals and activists together over a weekend to learn more about the 9/11 events and discuss the way forward to truth and justice. It was also hoped that we may be able to break the media blackout in Australia by the attendance of some high profile speakers like Dr Bob Bowman and Yukihsa Fujita MP, unfortunately this did not happen.
