Six years have passed since the events of Sept. 11, 2001. So to have several governmental explanations, a 9-11 bipartisan commission, which released an official report, to address the unanswered questions that hang over what the U.S. government has classified as a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that memorable September morning.

Giuliani replied by saying, "I didn't realize the towers would collapse." He later added, "No one that I know of had any idea they would implode. That was a complete surprise."

WNBC has obtained the transcript of Giuliani's appearance with Jennings, from the Giuliani 2008 campaign. This is the verbatim of the issue in question: ...

“When you look back at that day — that terrible, terrible day — it seems almost like another lifetime ago,” he said. “Donald believes bombs were planted in the towers and that the investigation exhibited a number of very questionable characteristics. Like, how could fire melt the steel core of the towers? Or, why did the 9/11 Commission not talk about World Trade Center 7? That [building] fell around 5 p.m., but we don’t know why. And if it is true what we’ve heard recently, that a physics professor at [Brigham Young University] found elements of steel-cutting agents in the melted steel from the towers, why is that met with cries of insanity? There is a possibility that what really happened was much more than what we were told.”

Gage has become a leading figure of the so-called 9/11 truth movement, an informal campaign from people all over the world who challenge official accounts of what happened that day.

He argues that a deliberate, controlled demolition using explosive devices is what really destroyed the twin towers that day, along with another skyscraper known as WTC 7 or Building 7. Speaking to Sun Media from his Bay Area home this weekend, Gage said few people are even aware of the third building.

Last year, The Tidings called for an open and complete investigation into the questions surrounding the 9/11 mysteries. We believe our nation owes that much to the innocent victims that died that day and to the troops deployed to the Middle East based upon the Bush administration's explanations of the events of 9/11. If the White House has nothing to hide, then why has it been so determined to dodge issues and questions posed by the people?

We renew that call today. We don't pretend to know the truth, but we insist that the whole truth will only be known when newspapers around the country join us in demanding complete openness from our government.

In the meantime, every American interested in truth would do well to revisit this painful issue.

According to a release from ABC, Korey Rowe and Dylan Avery, creators of the 9/11 conspiracy documentary Loose Change will appear on the May 24th show. Also listed is William Rodriguez, who was a janitor at the North Tower of the World Trade Center, who has since become part of the 9/11 truth movement. The only other guests listed for that date are the winners of Dancing With the Stars, so it appears that the show will not have representatives from both sides of the topic. Rosie O’Donnell has said before that we have been hearing the other side for years, so maybe the show will only cover the topic from one angle. However, since the show line-up often goes through changes before the show is taped, it is possible that they might be adding additional guests. It is also possible that they might have the other side in another segment on a different day.

911 Truth

So you implement one of the most stupendous black-ops of all time. Considering the multitude of variables, you've put together a fairly convincing cover story that fixes blame on Islamic terrorists. Using the full weight of the political establishment you bulldoze away public discussion of the truth. A complaisant press repeats your lies in a ciclo infinito forte. Though a few malcontents won't buy it, they're marginalized. Then along comes your worst nightmare: a distinguished theologian whose cross-disciplinary specialization involves highly sophisticated reasoning that requires familiarity with logic, science, and the scientific method — a man with no personal vested interest whatsoever (and no way to falsely hang one on him), who digs in tenaciously to ask the right questions, and who becomes a true patriotic hero to many. In short order, despite the media blackout, a very large percentage of the public becomes skeptical. . . .

Samuel Ready, looking somewhat like a retired professor on vacation, sporting a graying beard and ball cap, is a calm, cheery and well-spoken man. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and a master's in electrical engineering from USC. Ready worked in the defense industry for 26 years in Los Angeles. Currently, the 72-year-old Chicoan works as a budget maker for local and Bay Area homeowners' associations, and he attends Trinity United Methodist Church.

An unbiased observer doesn't need to look beyond what's happening on the ground today in Iraq and Afghanistan to conclude the War on Terror has been a brutal, manipulative means to a transparently self-serving end.

Addressing the need for truth and transparency in US government and media is in keeping with Rosie's long history of grappling with important issues on The View.

Rosie's recent comments, along with Bill O'Reilly's "outrage" were a topic of discussion on ABC's "Good Morning America" yesterday. This was followed with the article below, posted at ABC.com (a poll is also running there now--please vote!). As is all too common with mainstream media (but rather odd for ABC since it's the network which airs The View), Rosie's "offensive" comments regarding the 15 sailors recently captured by Iran were included: "I have one thing to say--Gulf of Tonkin. Google it." (or read about it here). On the other hand, the outrageous comments of O'Reilly and Joe Scarborough's guest, Danny Bonaduce (who said Rosie should be hanged), mostly omitted from the story.

A year ago, the polling group Zogby asked Americans whether the government is "covering up" the true events of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Forty-two percent said yes.

Movies challenging the official version of events can be found all over the Internet. One of them, "9/11: Press for Truth," will play this weekend at the Guild Cinema in Nob Hill. The film adapts the exhaustive 9/11 timeline assembled by Paul Thompson, a graduate of Stanford University. It also talks to victims' relatives who have been at odds with the Bush administration.

Colin Donoghue, a recent political science graduate from the University of New Mexico, pushed for the screening in Albuquerque.
