9/11 Conspiracy Theorists Gather at LA Conference
By Jill Serjeant Alex Jones' hugely successful, energetic, and brilliantly named "9/11 and the Neo-Con Agenda" conference gets covered here by British wire service, Reuters. Reuters feeds every major news outlet in America, but, strange to say, the last time we checked Google News only Aljazeera, Alarab, and Tehran Times seem to have found this overflow event newsworthy. It's enough to make you believe in conspiracies of silence. But of course that's only a theory... - Ed.LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - They wore T-shirts asking "What Really Happened?," snapped up DVDs titled "9/11; The Great Illusion," and cheered as physicists, philosophers and terrorism experts decried the official version of the Sept. 11 attacks that shook America to its core. Some 1,200 people gathered at a Los Angeles hotel on the weekend for what organizers billed as the largest conference on the plethora of conspiracy theories that see the 2001 attacks on Washington and New York as, at best, official negligence, and at worst an orchestrated U.S. attempt to incite world war.

9/11 Thefts Not Prosecuted After FBI Misdeeds
Associated Press Interesting little microcosmic tale of official 9/11 consciousness - private contractor gets caught stealing first responder supplies, but FBI looks the other way 'cause a bunch of government suits were also out there looting. (May explain why the FBI doesn't want to charge Bin Laden either...) The whistleblowers who told the FBI "lost their jobs, received death threats and were blackballed in the disaster relief industry." The lead whistleblower later lamented if he knew what would happen he would have kept his mouth shut. Who says this government is not serious about education? - Ed.(AP) NEW YORK -- A disaster relief company that took supplies that were supposed to go to September 11th rescuers at the World Trade Center escaped punishment by the government. The lead investigators for the FBI and FEMA told the Associated Press that the plan to prosecute Kieger Enterprises for the thefts stopped as soon as it became clear in 2002 that federal employees, including FBI agents, had stolen items from Ground Zero.

Unquestioned Answers: Nonconspiracy theorist David Ray Griffin takes aim at the official 9-11 storyJune 16, 2006 Bohemian.com, a mainstream arts/culture weekly covering the Bay Area in Northern California, has published a review of David Ray Griffins work as a 9/11 Truth activist. Not insulting or dismissive, this article lets Griffins words and actions do the talking, and presents historical background for "false-flag" terror as well. This kind of fair treatment is becoming more common in the MSM. "Whatever ones assumption of what a "conspiracy theorist" is like, David Ray Griffin doesnt fit the mold, perhaps because hes really a nonconspiracy theorist. While he methodically deconstructs the official story, he doesnt spin his own alternative yarn to fill the vacuum. Instead, he allows audience members to draw their own conclusions." "The truth of the official 9-11 story," explains Griffin, "must be taken on faith. It is not a matter of debate or even discussion. Anyone who brings up anything that contradicts the official story is either ignored or denounced as a conspiracy nut. "However," he continues, "when the official account of 9-11 is stripped of its halo and treated simply as a theory rather than an unquestionable dogma, it cannot be defended as the best theory to account for the relevant facts. When challenges to it are not treated as blasphemy, it can easily be seen to not correspond with reality."

MSM Damage Control Kicks In?Monday AOL News logged the NY Times report on the Chicago 9/11 conference (below) as their Most Popular News Story throughout the day and over 180,000 people responded to the attached poll. (See AOL version here.) It has now completely vanished from the Most Popular page (and every other story list on the site), despite the fact that only about 70,000 people voted in the week's Most Popular story poll. And consider the even odder fact that Google "9/11" News Alerts still do not list the NY Times story (and they also declined to run our Zogby poll press release even though PRWeb sent it to them at least three times). "What's up?" you might ask. We certainly do.

500 Conspiracy Buffs Meet to Seek the Truth of 9/11
By Alan Feuer The Chicago "9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming our Future" truly was a historic gathering as you yourself shall see as we post our reports and the video record here in the coming weeks. In the meantime allow us to share another bit of history, the New York Times' first recognition of our existence, which has been the most popular story on AOL News all day. Yes, there are the expected hits and snickers, but Feuer had to get it through his editors and to his credit he inserts enough meat and salient points to make our case quite clear, clear enough in fact to already draw attacks from the rightist blogworld. - Ed. CHICAGO, June 4 – In the ballroom foyer of the Embassy Suites Hotel, the two-day International Education and Strategy Conference for 9/11 Truth was off to a rollicking start. In Salon Four, there was a presentation under way on the attack in Oklahoma City, while in the room next door, the splintered factions of the movement were asked — for sake of unity — to seek a common goal. In the foyer, there were stick-pins for sale ("More gin, less Rummy"), and in the lecture halls discussions of the melting point of steel. "It's all documented," people said. Or: "The mass media is mass deception." Or, as strangers from the Internet shook hands: "Great to meet you. Love the work." Such was the coming-out for the movement known as "9/11 Truth," a society of skeptics and scientists who believe the government was complicit in the terrorist attacks. In colleges and chat rooms on the Internet, this band of disbelievers has been trying for years to prove that 9/11 was an inside job.

Hijacked truth?By: KEITH PHUCAS, Times Herald Staff "While the 9/11 Commission Report inquiry has its share of critics, Jonathan Gold's misgivings about the official findings go far beyond skepticism. In fact, the 33-year-old Plymouth Meeting resident is convinced the report is covering up Bush administration complicity in the deadly terrorist attacks."

New Tape Stirs Up 9/11 Conspiracy Theories: Pentagon Video Officially ReleasedMay 16, 2006 While the spin on today's release of Pentagon video is evident in the media's persistent assurance that what we're seeing really is "video footage of American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon building," this article from ABCNEWS.com fairly accurately quotes Mike Berger and Barrie Zwicker, in a reasonable manner. Undoubtedly, the preferred story title would have been "New Tape Finally Ends 9/11 Conspiracy Theories"; unfortunately, what we're seeing remains as unclear as ever.

The questions that "United 93" can't answerApril 26, 2006 With this week's release of the new Hollywood movie, "United 93," the questions are already beginning to pour in. Will Bunch, intrepid reporter with the Philadelphia Daily News (and first to make public information disputing the "official line" that no black boxes were found at the towers), asks a few of the questions movie viewers need to consider. In the hoopla that will no doubt surround the United 93 release, the links in this story will prove quite valuable to those willing to follow their hunch that something's "not quite right" about the government's story.
