Google Doesn't Like 911truth.orgAstute readers have brought some virtual outrage to our attention in the last few days, which we're passing on here, in hopes it will be of help to you in making decisions about virtual privacy and safety, and as yet more evidence that the practice of censoring 'inconvenient' truth is alive and well right here in the good ol' USofA. These readers reported that an internet search for 911truth.org, using Google's search engine, no longer finds 911truth.org in the results! Intrepid researchers that we are, we tried this for ourselves and, indeed, they're right! Go ahead...try it. Enter "911truth.org" in a Google search bar and you'll find, currently, the first entry in response is some unheard of site based in the country Nauru. (Nauru?, we asked ourselves, wondering how we could possibly have missed that in geography class...)

Care and compensation in short supply for ailing and troubled 9/11 workersSix years after the Sept. 11 attacks, the number of first responders and workers who are ill and seeking monitoring and treatment continues to rise, a trend that surprises the medical professionals caring for them. "When you are seeing this many people five or six years later, that catches everybody's attention," said Janet Levelle, the senior social worker at Stony Brook University Medical Center's Long Island World Trade Center Monitoring and Treatment Program based in Islandia and Nassau University Medical Center.

Judges Have Allowed the Government to Hide Mistakes Behind National SecurityHiding behind claims of harming national security, the Bush administration has
used the state secrets privilege to prevent public disclosure, oversight, and
reform. From the testimony of whistleblowers to accountability on domestic surveillance,
we are told that we should just trust them. I guess they have forgotten the dictum
of the great communicator, "trust but verify." – Ed.
On Aug. 15, before an overflow crowd at the federal courthouse at 7th and Mission in San Francisco, three judges from the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals listened to lawyers argue whether the once-obscure "state secrets privilege" gives the government an absolute right to withhold documents, bury evidence and block lawsuits. The government claimed the privilege in connection with two cases challenging the Bush administration's domestic surveillance programs, including its controversial warrantless wiretapping operation. Deputy Solicitor General Gregory Garre, arguing for the government, maintained that the cases should be dismissed instantly, no questions asked, because a trial would endanger national security. Presenting any evidence in a courtroom, he said, would put the country at "exceptionally grave harm."

Why Cheney Likes Mukasey for A.G. By Robert Parry In praising George W. Bush's new choice for Attorney General, Vice President Dick Cheney identified one freedom in particular that retired Judge Michael Mukasey would protect: "the freedom from fear of terrorist attacks." The comment spoke volumes about the Bush administration's priorities, fitting with the President's oft-repeated claim that the government has no more important duty than to protect the American people.

Three Years Later: Another Look At Three Claims from ULA chemist, fired from Underwriters Laboratories for questioning their deceptive methodologies in tests of the WTC floor assemblies post-9/11, systematically critiques the changing explanations for the collapses in the four official studies to date. Three Years Later: Another Look At Three Claims from UL It has been nearly three years since I wrote a letter to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), about their World Trade Center investigation.[1] Shortly after firing me for writing this letter, my former employer, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), began making some suspicious statements. These included the following three claims related to the question of whether or not UL performed fire-resistance testing of materials used in the WTC. [2] 1. UL vehemently denied last week that it ever certified the materials. 2. "UL does not certify structural steel, such as the beams, columns and trusses used in World Trade Center," said Paul M. Baker, the company's spokesman. 3. The company told The Tribune "there is no evidence" that any firm tested the materials used to build the towers.

Hold Bush/Cheney Accountable on Constitution DayToday, as we celebrate Constitution Day, many Americans are asking whether President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have committed "High Crimes and Misdemeanors," justifying their impeachment and removal from office. Have Bush and Cheney abused their powers of office by using information they knew to be false as justification for the US invasion of Iraq; condoning and authorizing the torture of prisoners of war and rendering detainees to foreign countries known to torture; maintaining secret prisons and other detention facilities in violation of the Geneva Conventions; authorizing warrantless wiretaps on US citizens; disclosing the name of an undercover CIA operative contrary to law in retaliation for her husband's opposition to the Iraq war; and suspending and denying the historic Writ of Habeas Corpus by ordering the indefinite detention of so-called "enemy combatants" without charge and without access to legal counsel?

Spitzer's Real Scandal![]() September 10, 2007 Brooklyn Newspaper Delivers the Goods: The Spitzer scandals continue. On the 6th anniversary of the 9/11 attack, Brooklyn activist newspaper the New York Megaphone breaks this exclusive story: NY Governor Eliot Spitzer filed an amicus brief on 1/15/03 on behalf of the World Trade Center's controversial lease-holder, the real estate magnate Larry Silverstein. This document shows that Spitzer, as Attorney General, helped Silverstein get the whopping $4.5 billion windfall for the 9/11 attacks. The record is clear: Spitzer helped reverse a lower court's decision, by making credible Silverstein's argument that the two different plane crashes on 9/11/01 should be compensated as two different terrorist attacks.

Reflecting on our losses by Donna Marsh O'ConnorOne 9/11 mother's very personal meditation on the battered meaning of truth, honesty and tragic anniversaries...
– Ed.
September 11, 2007 The day is somber as it always is now on September 11th. Today it is literally somber, the weather gloomy and I feel somber. But this year I'm home, not in New York City begging for 9/11 truth, nor in Valhalla where Vanessa is buried, nor in Washington, D.C. lobbying persons wrapped so tight in metaphoric suits that they cannot see beyond their own tailored personae to understand what I want. It's really unfair to them, after all, since I can never really have what I want. Somehow I am a part of the "truth" movement--a movement of those family members and citizens who believe at least that there are key questions to the events leading up to 9/11, the events of that day, and the events post 9/11 that were never asked (forget answered) and that these questions need to be asked so that the world can go back to its bucolic ways pre-November 2000.

9-11, Six Years LaterOn Sept. 7, National Public Radio reported that Muslims in the Middle East were beginning to believe that the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and Pentagon were false flag operations committed by some part of the U.S. and/or Israeli government. It was beyond the imagination of the NPR reporter and producer that there could be any substance to these beliefs, which were attributed to the influence of books by U.S. and European authors sold in bookstores in Egypt. NPR's concern was that books by Western authors questioning the origin of the 9/11 attack have the undesirable result of removing guilt from Muslims' shoulders.

Thank You, Military HeroFrom GeorgeWashington's Blogspot, September 10, 2007 I want to sincerely thank the military heroes who -- even right now -- may be thwarting another false flag attack in America. By way of background, I read with gratitude that the "CENTCOM Commander’s Veto Sank Bush’s Threatening Gulf Buildup". And I also believe that good people in the military -- who love this country and the Constitution -- have thwarted some of the neocon's other crazy plans.
