Curiouser and Curiouser: NORAD Incompetence Theory Deja Vu
Yes, this ‘NORAD lied!’ story has been all over the news for the last 24 hours, and no, we still don’t know what to make of it all. Most of the NORAD lies referred to were either loudly cited by Sen. Dayton in a congressional hearing over two years ago or reported to Congress in May of last year. So why the fuss now? One superficial trigger seems to be the Vanity Fair piece (linked below) with embedded sound recordings of NORAD internal communications on 9/11 morning that were inexplicably awarded to Michael Bronner, the article’s author and associate producer of “United 93.” It will take a little research time to parse all the logical feints and contradictions it contains, not to mention the tech wizardry that reportedly packed 30 hours of uncompressed sound files into three ordinary CDs. For now we simply invite you to scan these stories with your own BS detecter and devote some critical thought to the enormous role the 9/11 Commission- ignored aerial war games seemed to play that day.
