Dr. Frank Legge, two new papers at the Journal of 9/11 StudiesAnnouncing two new papers by Dr. Frank Legge (Ph.D., Chemistry) published at journalof911studies.com: 1) "Controlled Demolition at the WTC: an Historical Examination of the Case" provides a brief history of research related to explosive demolition at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001, from Dr. Legge's point of view. Cogent and pithy; worth the read. http://journalof911studies.com/volume/2009/LeggeCDatWTC.pdf 2) "Frank Greening versus Isaac Newton" provides a brief expose of the "lapse" by F. Greening in understanding Newton's Third Law -- and the significance of this gaffe by Greening. Sometimes humorous, certainly enlightening. http://journalof911studies.com/volume/2009/FGvsNewton.pdf

9-11 Conspiracy Theorists Sue St. LouisBy JOE HARRIS May 12, 2009 Courthouse News Service
ST. LOUIS (CN) - Two 9-11 conspiracy theorists say St. Louis used an unconstitutional ordinance to violate their right to free speech. Donald Stahl and William Demsar say city police arrested them on Feb. 6 for carrying a banner that stated, "911 Was An Inside Job!"In their federal claim, the men say it was a peaceful protest calling for a new, independent investigation into the federal government's involvement into the events of September 11, 2001. The men say they were not blocking pedestrian or vehicular traffic. They say police arrested them and destroyed their sign based on an ordinance that states: "No person shall sell or offer for sale any goods or merchandise, display any sign or pictures, participate in or conduct an exhibition or demonstration, talk, sing or play music on any street or abutting premises, or alley in consequences of which there is such a gathering of persons or stopping of vehicles as to impede either pedestrians or vehicular traffic."

9/11: Time for a Second LookAmong independent scientists and professionals in the relevant fields who have studied the evidence, the weight of scientific and professional opinion is now overwhelmingly on the side of the 9/11 Truth Movement. Whereas well over 1,000 such people have gone on record publicly questioning the official theory, there are virtually no scientists or professionals in the relevant fields who have gone on record in support of the official story--except for such people who are not independent, meaning that their whose livelihoods would be threatened if they refused to support the official theory. This caveat is important, because, as Sinclair Lewis famously observed: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." Except for such people, virtually everyone who has expertise in a relevant field, and who has seriously studied the evidence, rejects the official conspiracy theory. It is time, therefore, for journalists and everyone else to take a second look. by David Ray Griffin My lecture is entitled "9/11: Time for a Second Look." In suggesting that it is time for people to take a second look at 9/11, I have in mind primarily people who decided long ago that the attacks of 9/11 happened essentially the way the Bush-Cheney administration and the official reports about 9/11 said they happened, and who therefore decided that the so-called 9/11 Truth Movement, which disputes that account, is comprised of crazy conspiracy theorists with no capacity to evaluate evidence objectively. Having formed these views long ago, such people, including most journalists, have been impervious to any arguments presented by the Truth Movement. They simply roll their eyes and move on.

Report: much of 9/11 CommissionBy Stephen C. Webster Much of the material cited in the 9/11 Commission's findings was derived from terror war detainees during brutal CIA interrogations authorized by the Bush administration, according to a Wednesday report. "More than one-quarter of all footnotes in the 9/11 Report refer to CIA interrogations of al Qaeda operatives subjected to the now-controversial interrogation techniques," writes former NBC producer Robert Windrem in The Daily Beast. "In fact, information derived from the interrogations was central to the 9/11 Report’s most critical chapters, those on the planning and execution of the attacks." "... [Information] derived from the interrogations is central to the Report’s most critical chapters, those on the planning and execution of the attacks," reported NBC. "The analysis also shows - and agency and commission staffers concur - there was a separate, second round of interrogations in early 2004, done specifically to answer new questions from the Commission.

Pelosi the EnablerShould the members of the 9/11 Presidential Commission not have been informed that two of the "key witnesses" upon whom their report was based had provided the information critical to the report's conclusions only after being waterboarded a total of 266 times? ... In short, the basic narrative of the origins and conduct of the 9/11 attack that so fundamentally perverted American politics relied on cherry-picked information that the White House and its operative in the field chose to release to the commission. Alleged 9/11 Mastermind: 'I Gave A Lot Of False Information...'Those who have actually read the 9/11 Commission Report are well aware that the findings, and following recommendations, were significantly based on "intelligence" gathered from men like Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of 9/11. Now that we undeniably know this "intelligence" was indeed based on false confessions, desperately concocted to make the torture stop (KSM was waterboarded 183 times in ONE MONTH, for example), isn't it finally time to truly investigate and PROSECUTE the crimes of 9/11? And if the entire substance of "justification" to invade and destroy Iraq was based on false allegations made by Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi in order to keep from being buried alive, isn't it time to truly prosecute the case for murder put forward by Vincent Bugliosi?

May 11, 2009 The Red Cross is the organization charged with deciding what is torture and what isn't. The International Committee of the Red Cross interviewed Khalid Shaikh Mohammed - the alleged 9/11 mastermind - at Guantanamo Bay. Here's what KSM told the Red Cross (see below for more from a review of this report):

Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi Has Died In A Libyan PrisonBradBlog is (as usual) providing excellent coverage of this article's importance, and asks why American corporate media is not covering this news:
Coverage of al-Libi 'Suicide' Almost Wholly Absent from U.S. Mainstream Corporate Media (But there's plenty on a comedian's jokes about Limbaugh and Hannity at the White House Correspondents Dinner) UPDATED 5/12: 24 hours later, WaPo & UPI finally jump in with some decent coverage... So, it's been about 16 hours since we covered indie journalist/historian/blogger Andy Worthington's detailed report on the reported suicide of the man who falsely "confessed," during torture, to a false tie between Iraq and al-Qaeda. The forced confession was subsequently used by the Bush Administration (Bush himself, as well as Powell and others) as justification for the war on Iraq. That, despite the fact that Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi recanted his story not long thereafter, as long and widely reported. As of this moment, not a single mainstream U.S. newspaper or broadcast outlet has reported on the story. Is it not notable? Or are our newspapers just dead set on ensuring their irrelevance by continuing to not report on news that actually matters, no matter how widely it's being reported in other parts of the world? – Ed.
May 10, 2009 The Arabic media is ablaze with the news that Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, the emir of an Afghan training camp -- whose claim that Saddam Hussein had been involved in training al-Qaeda operatives in the use of chemical and biological weapons was used to justify the invasion of Iraq -- has died in a Libyan jail. So far, however, the only English language report is on the Algerian website Ennahar Online, which reported that the Libyan newspaper Oea stated that al-Libi (aka Ali Abdul Hamid al-Fakheri) “was found dead of suicide in his cell,” and noted that the newspaper had reported the story “without specifying the date or method of suicide.” This news resolves, in the grimmest way possible, questions that have long been asked about the whereabouts of Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, perhaps the most famous of “America’s Disappeared” -- prisoners seized in the “War on Terror,” who were rendered not to Guantánamo but to secret prisons run by the CIA or to the custody of governments in third countries -- often their own -- where, it was presumed, they would never be seen or heard from again.

Pakistani president: Osama bin Laden is deadBy David Edwards and Jeremy Gantz May 10, 2009 RawStory.com Two weeks ago, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zadari suggested that Osama bin Laden might be dead, saying that U.S. and Pakistani intelligence agencies had been unable to detect any sign of the world's most wanted man since an audio recording of his voice was released in March. Sunday morning, Zadari went further: "I don't think he's alive," the president told NBC's David Gregory. "I have a strong feeling and reason to believe that." Zadari continued: "I have asked my counterparts in the American intelligence services and they haven't heard [from] him in seven years." The CIA has not confirmed that the voice purporting to be bin Laden in the March recording was in fact bin Laden. U.S. officials have claimed that bin Laden could be hiding in the mountainous region along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. [Video follows].

The Big "Con": Taliban take Pakistan and it's "Another 9/11"by Michael Collins A strange feeling of déjà vu arises while listening to the administration sell further U.S. military intervention in Pakistan (our Predator drones are already there). Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen claimed in late March that Pakistan s intelligence service has "close links with al Qaeda and the Taliban network." In fact, Mullen warned, the Pakistani intelligence service, ISI, is "offering logistical support to them (the Taliban)." In early April, veteran foreign policy icon and special advisor to the president on Afghanistan and South Asia, Richard Holbrook, let us know what this meant. There is a fundamental difference between the Pakistan conflict and the Viet Nam war, he argued. Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Holbrook went on to say this:
On May 9, General David Petraeus supported his superiors as he announced that Pakistan was now "the world headquarters for the al Qaeda senior leadership." . . . Perpetual 9/11 We re experiencing an example of the enduring power 9/11 as a justification for just about anything. Military adventures that kill foreigners have the potential to create what Chalmers Johnson so eloquently described as "blowback" in his trilogy on the perils of aggressive foreign policy. We re expected to believe that our violent actions in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including robot killer aircraft, will somehow produce a different result this time. We will be "safer."

From this mother to every mother, and to everyone who has ever known the love of a mother ... I wish you a day of joy. And to every mother in the world who has lost her child to this dirty, rotten system ... I wish you a day of peace from sorrow. May this day bring each of us joy, peace, rejuvenation, and renewed energy to continue working for peace--not just on Mother's Day, but every moment, every day. – Ed.
