Mark H. Gaffney is a researcher, author, poet, an environmentalist, a peace activist and organic gardener. He was the principal organizer of the first Earth Day at Colorado State University in 1970.

His essays, articles and opeds have appeared in numerous journals, magazines and newspapers.

He has authored two books on 9/11: The 9/11 Mystery Plane: And the Vanishing of America by Mark H. Gaffney and Dr. David Ray Griffin (Sep 1, 2008) and Black 9/11: Money, Motive and Technology (Trine Day, May 22, 2012)
