Amy Goodman is a journalist, investigative reporter, and author. She hosts Democracy Now!, a progressive news program broadcast on radio, television and the Internet. She has received the Thomas Merton Award in 2004, a Right Livelihood Award in 2008, and an Izzy Award in 2009 for "special achievement in independent media". In 2014 she was awarded the I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence by Harvard's Nieman Foundation.
