FOIA expert Michael Ravnitzky shares new tactics to obtain useful records from agencies

In the D.C. area and want to learn how to peek inside federal agencies using FOIA? Join the Society of Professional Journalists D.C. chapter and MuckRock for a fun, informative talk given by FOIA expert Michael Ravnitzky, followed by a few rounds of FOIA Karaoke.

The event is free and open to the public, and both experienced and starting FOIA requesters will take away new insights and specific ideas that help them request useful information about topics they care about.

Ravnitzky will be sharing a bunch of new FOIA tactics and research tools – including new ways of thinking about FOIA and strategies for learning about the current administration – that have never before been shared publicly.

Afterwards, you’ll get a chance to mix and have fun with other transparency fans as we challenge participants to ad lib a variety of PowerPoint presentations – all released through FOIA! A few lucky winners might even walk away with some exclusive MuckRock swag.

The event will take place from 6:00-9pm on July 27, and light refreshments will be served. RSVP here, as space is limited. The talk will start promptly at 6:30 p.m..

The event is hosted by Street Sense Media within Church of the Epiphany at 1317 G Street NW, Washington, DC 20005.

Since 2004, 911Truth.Org has educated the public about the suppressed realities of the September 11 attacks.

We worked with the 9/11 Families to pressure the Bush administration to convene an investigation into the deadliest attacks on US soil since Pearl Harbor. We attended many of the commission hearings and questioned commissioners and bird-dogged elected officials to get answers to the Unanswered Questions that remain so to this day.

We reported the contradictions, lies and omissions on the public record. 911Truth.Org staff have given hundreds of interviews on radio and mainstream network TV.

We cover a wide range of 9/11-related issues in publishing academic papers, original research, and opinion pieces.

We wish to thank our donors who have kept us on the web since 2004! We appreciate your continued support!

We continue to update the website to make the nearly 3000 articles easier to find, read and share. Thanks for visiting us!
