FOX Furiously Ridiculing 9/11 – US Government Conspiracy Theories

Sometimes it really does help to have the right enemies. FOX fulminations have even turned the head of this moderately liberal media watchdog blog.

Declaring “Independence from Reality”

And you thought the 50% of Americans who never heard of WTC 7 was depressing. Welcome to yet another view of the-more-you-watch-the-less-you-know generation at work.

Curiouser and Curiouser: NORAD Incompetence Theory Deja Vu

Yes, this 'NORAD lied!' story has been all over the news for the last 24 hours, and no, we still don't know what to make of it all. Most of the NORAD lies referred to were either loudly cited by Sen. Dayton in a congressional hearing over two years ago or reported to Congress in May of last year. So why the fuss now? One superficial trigger seems to be the Vanity Fair piece (linked below) with embedded sound recordings of NORAD internal communications on 9/11 morning that were inexplicably awarded to Michael Bronner, the article's author and associate producer of "United 93." It will take a little research time to parse all the logical feints and contradictions it contains, not to mention the tech wizardry that reportedly packed 30 hours of uncompressed sound files into three ordinary CDs. For now we simply invite you to scan these stories with your own BS detecter and devote some critical thought to the enormous role the 9/11 Commission- ignored aerial war games seemed to play that day.

New Poll: A Third of U.S. Public Believes 9/11 Conspiracy Theory

Like the 2004 Zogby 9/11 poll, this Scripps Howard survey directly questioned people about their belief in official US complicity, added the Mideast war as a likely motive, and found 36% in agreement. One has to suppress a bitter smile at their finding that agreement was lowest among those who read the mainstream press, but the truly encouraging aspect of this poll was its news that so much of this awakening had occurred quite recently. It also covers WTC demolition and national anger at government. All in all a fascinating read.

NY Times Features Barrett’s 9/11 Free Speech Fight

The 9/11 skeptic-slamming Gray Lady of establishment journalism finally offers some cautious coverage of Kevin Barrett's 9/11 free speech battle in Wisconsin. Yes, they bounce blithely past Barrett's evidentiary case for US gov complicity and feebly try to associate him with Ward Churchill (to alienate 9/11 families?) and a Holocaust denier (to turn off everyone else?), but on the whole it's another useful little breakthrough moment exposing the inconvenient endurance of 9/11 truth.
