WTC INSURE ‘WA$TE’ — $1B FUND SQUANDERS CASH SUIT

While tens of thousands suffer from the toxic fallout at Ground Zero, the WTC Captive Insurance Co., controlled by Mayor Bloomberg, drains the fund intended to be used for ill workers. For your convenience in reviewing the historical record stating the original mandate for this allocation, we have appended the press release from Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg, issued March 21, 2003. In an amazing twist of irony, the Bloomberg appointed CEO and President of the WTC Captive Insurance Co. draws a salary of $350,000 and receives $20,000 annually in health benefits.

In another ironic twist of timing, this weekend the FealGood Foundation--which provides direct help to responders--is holding a doo-wop benefit concert to raise the desperately needed funds they can't get from the Bloomberg fund.

9/11 Responders Speak Out on Government Failure to Address Environmental, Health Impact of World Trade Center Collapse

Juan Gonzalez, journalist with both DemocracyNow!and the New York Daily News, and author of "Fallout: The Environmental Consequences of the World Trade Center Collapse," has been reporting on the toxic impacts of 9/11 from the beginning. Following is a Democracy Now! interview with two 9/11 responders, Regina Cervantes and John Feal.

A powerful 31 minute interview with John Feal was recently posted at Google (Louder than Words produced), which offers readers a personal conversation with John. And Michael Moore's latest movie, "Sicko" (opening in theaters June 29th), brings worldwide attention to these responders. Recently, activists with Louder ThanWords asked Moore his thoughts about 9/11; Moore replied with surprising candor re. his own questions about the official story. That interview is available here. Giuliani Confronted At New York Fundraiser

Take a moment to thank NYC's WNBC for posting Giuliani's confrontation with the truth by a "radical" group at a Bronx fundraiser. (Ouch!) Not only did they report on it, they included video of the interaction, then found and posted Giuliani's original "we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse" interview! Who knows, maybe they will report more of the many lies told by America's Mayor? Giuliani doesn't seem to remember that he had been told that the towers were going to collapse. We can only hope that he will be asked whether he had said that the air quality at Ground Zero was "safe and acceptable" ("Poisonous Legacy of 9/11," New Statesman).
